Front cover

This is my front cover. I have tried to emulate my sketch as best as possible but have found that having 2 figures worked better than just the single one. For my front cover i have used different skills to make and design my front cover. Firstly i rubbed out the blue building behind the wall and managed to get the same white as the sky and i believed this has worked well as you cannot see any remnants of the building. After this i worked on the title of magazine. I used different layers to create a effect that stands out from the white background and is clear. It was harder to find a colour font that stood out from the grey wall but then i used white with a dropped shadow and i believe this makes it stand out from the rest of the wall. I have used the same font through the majority of the front cover i did'nt use the same all the way through as i thought it would stand out more and not be boring and repetitive. Above the front cover is the original photo that i began with.

Front Cover Sketch

This is my first sketch for my ideas what to put on the front cover of my magazine. I wanted to have one main focus picture with cover stories surrounding the main picture. I will most likely have my tag line going across the bottom rather than just under the title as this will leave more room for the main figure. The font i am hoping to have is a graffiti style as this will connote the genre of the magazine.

Potential magazine photos

I have taken my first set of photos and i believe i have enough quality pictures to not take any more. I think i have the right photos for the front cover, contents page and my magazine article. I will use photoshop to try and improve some of my photos that will help my magazine look better overall.

Music Magazine Production- Pitch of ideas

Genre:
Drum and Bass

Name of magazine:
Bassline

Editorial mission statement:
As there is no other magazine like this on the market at the moment, i am trying to give the young people an insight into the world of Drum and Bass and all the latest music that is out.

Audience:
My magazine is aimed at young people aged between 15 and 25 because i believe this is one of the most popular genres among this age group. Also from my questionnaires i have been able to gain information in to what people of that age group prefer.

Tagline:
DnB/Dubstep/Electro/Dance/House-Nuff Said

Reader Profile:
The person who reads Baseline is a normal average teenager who has a passion for Drum and Bass. They are also interested in similar genres. They like to listen to music alot and is one of their main hobbies and would always be listening to DnB music.

Ideas for front cover:

For my front cover i would like to have one main figure with all the sell lines and cover stories on the outside. i would like to have taglines across the bottom. i also had the idea of having a band on the front cover and doing a article on them.

Ideas for Contents Page:

I would like to have my front cover artist as the main focus with other stories throughout the contents, i would like to have a list of things down the right hand side and the editorial comment in the left hand corner. i have taken a few pictures which i could use for contents page.

Ideas for Article:

I would like to have an interview based double page spread with call outs from what the band say in their answers and have a few pictures of the artists.
